EYFS - OSPREY TALK

Class 1’s favourite activity before lunch is to check in on the webcam on the Osprey nest at Rutland Water.  During their observations, they thought of some fantastic questions and sent these to the Young Osprey Leaders from the Osprey Leadership Foundation at Rutland Water, who sent their replies back to school.   One day they sent so many questions, two Young Osprey Leaders decided to visit and answer the children’s questions in person.  The children learnt about the benefits and considerations of ringing, the Rutland ospreys' diet and special adaptations of ospreys. The children’s enthusiasm for ospreys flowed into their choosing time, when they drew pictures, created fact files, built model ospreys and role-played ospreys in their outdoor construction area.  As Class 1 are now Osprey experts, they delivered an assembly to the rest of EYFS to share their knowledge.  They were amazingly confident, speaking in front of the whole year group and sharing their passion for ospreys! #engageandinspire #nurtureandgrowth #prideandjoy
