Sensory Garden of Remembrance

Mrs Brown, Mrs Tuisavura and the Life Skills Group have been working very hard to create a Sensory Garden of Remembrance for the Royal British Legion Joyce Burton Trophy Competition. This garden is intended not only to remember those who have lost their lives in conflict, but also to be used by anyone who is bereaved or may need a quiet space to reflect and be with their own thoughts. Many thanks to New College Stamford Carpentry Department who cut the wooden plaques and our PTFA who gave a donation towards resources.

Steve Bonde and Paddy Moore, members of the RBL, came to photograph the garden today and meet the children who helped make it. They told them all about the brass tack words for your fingers to trace, the herbs and lavender to taste and smell, the wooden plaques to read, and showed them the calming bamboo wind chime. This a wonderful space to just listen and reflect and we have already seen children and adults doing just that. #nurtureandgrow
