y3 - writing

In writing this week, our Y3 children have been using the poem ‘I asked the little boy who cannot see’ to think about colours and their senses. We used different items to inspire us to describe a colour without just saying the word. We thought about how yellow is the crackle of fire or the crunch of leaves under our feet, blue is the sweet smell of blueberries and the crashing of the ocean waves and orange is the juicy sweet flesh of a fruit. We are looking forward to using these ideas in our own poems next week. #engageandinspire #nurtureandgrowth #prideandjoy
