EYFS - BEE-KEEPING

The children in EYFS enjoyed a fascinating bee-themed week before half-term.  They learnt about the important role bees play in pollination and that without pollination we wouldn’t have many of our favourite foods!  Mr Revell gave an engaging presentation about bee-keeping and the children loved seeing the empty hive and bee-keeping equipment.  He also gave each class a jar of honey made by his bees; this led to some wonderful writing as the children tasted and then described the honey.  The children spent much of the week in bee costumes completing ‘bee school’ themed tasks based on our topic story ‘The Bumblebear’. A favourite task was buzzing around the playground in hunt of numbered flowers to put in sequential order. #engageandinspire #nurtureandgrowth #prideandjoy
