At Malcolm Sargent, we are passionate about teaching teachers how to be even better!
Together with our comprehensive ongoing training for staff at the school, we are committed to preparing local people to start a career in teaching. Stamford is a great place to live, and work, and our support of trainees locally helps to ensure lots of good quality teachers in the local area take up posts.
Leading a cluster of local primary schools, we offer places for PGCE, Schools Direct, BA Hons, BEd and SCITT routes into teaching. We work closely with Bishop Grossteste University Lincoln, and The Deepings School to facilitate training places.
We believe strongly in setting up trainees in an environment which supports their development closely, with a range of strategies to enable rapid progress through comprehensive assessments, action planning and evaluation. The large school environment is perfect for trainee teachers, as it provides high numbers of experienced teachers to share their expertise. Working in teams of teachers is also a superb way of learning through regular planning and assessment meetings, where ideas are shared and input provided for everyone.
Our friendly and enthusiastic staff teams are great; they are passionate about what they do, and want to ensure the best opportunities for the children, whilst training with them. Our trainee mentors and staff teams know how a caring and supportive environment is the best approach – and with a smile and a laugh, can help those new to a challenging but incredibly rewarding profession.
